We employ more than 2,300 people across our London, Southampton and Cardiff offices and will open our Manchester office in 2023.Starling Bank's Treasury manages the bank's rapidly growing balance sheet. We are responsible for managing liquidity, funding, IRRBB and structural risks using cash, investment securities, interest rate derivatives and foreign exchange.
We are looking for a Treasury Dealer to work within the Treasury Liquidity management team. This person will be an integral part of the team, and will be responsible for the management of Starling's liquid asset buffer across a range of currencies and via a range of products.
Responsibilities will include:
Day-to-day management of Starling's cash and HQLA portfolio via a range of products (money market deposits, repos, FX swaps, fixed income securities etc.).
Remaining within limits while optimising yield against liquidity, capital and counterparty credit risks.
Working on projects and providing key inputs from a Treasury dealing perspective. This will include the continued expansion of trading counterparties and the development of the Treasury Management System.
Performing ad-hoc analysis and producing market research and trade strategies to senior stakeholders. This will include presenting at various committees such as the Wholesale Credit Risk Committee and ALCo.
Supporting the production of the ILAAP and stress testing.
Identifying opportunities to simplify or automate existing reporting / processes.
Requirements:
Professional qualification in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.
A strong attention to detail, ensuring that all activity is undertaken in accordance with the bank's risk appetite.
A strong understanding of important liquidity metrics such as EWIs, the Survival Horizon, LCR and NSFR, alongside all relevant regulation.
Experience within the money market, repo, FX and bond markets.
Familiarity with ISDA / GMRA / CDEA documentation.
A problem solver with strong quantitative skills.
The ability to distil complex ideas for presentation to a broad audience.
A keen interest in data handling and analysis. VBA, SQL or Python knowledge is an advantage.
