Supply Chain & Category Buyer/Manager – materials, aggregates, power access

£38,000 – £40,000 + £4800 Car allowance + 10% bonus
Grafton UK are currently recruiting exclusively on behalf of a rapidly growing construction technology business in the London area to source a tech savvy & commercially astute Supply Chain & Category Buyer/Manager to work closely with the Head of Supply Chain.
Responsibilities of the Supply Chain & Category Buyer/Manager:
Effectively and strategically managing 3 main commodities across materials, aggregates and power access
Researching your product category to identify additional suppliers in key locations that can be on-boarded to support business growth
Help to create and analyse reports on supplier performance and engagement
Hold regular meetings with tier 1 suppliers covering off spend, performance, engagement and pricing
Negotiating best possible commercial terms and SLAs with key suppliers
Training and supporting suppliers in the use of the company's Supplier Portal to enable them to have the best opportunity of increasing their revenue
Bringing forward new ideas to engage and support suppliers across all product categories that the company operate within
Develop multi-level and cross department relationships within all Tier 1 suppliers
Knowledge and experience of the Supply Chain & Category Buyer/Manager:
Experience within a successful supply chain team, preferably within the construction equipment/materials industry managing aggregate categories
Excited by the idea of a tech platform helping to transform the procurement process for construction companies, enabling projects to be delivered on-time and within budget
Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership. You understand that growth businesses are unpredictable environments and are comfortable with a degree of change
Highly competent with negotiating best commercial terms with any given supplier
Demonstrable skills in negotiating, buying and selling
Tech savvy, comfortable working with our CRM solution and software tools
Strong stakeholder management skills
Articulate with excellent written and verbal skills
Team player and fit right into our culture of supporting and helping each other out
Personal Attributes:
Passionate about the supplier experience and end to end supplier journey.
A strong operational understanding of the construction supplier market.
An inquisitive mind, always looking for new opportunities and never standing still
Determined, tenacious and resilient
The ability to be able to challenge and determine great results for our suppliers.
Has an innate ability to be able to build relationships.
A proactive individual with a "can do" attitude (self-starter).
