Sessional Workers support PiP Development Workers in the provision of a flexible programme of learning and development opportunities; ensuring that students can actively participate and engage in sessions, giving student's maximum opportunity to learn and develop.
The role incorporates session delivery, recording and monitoring student progress, key working responsibilities such as liaising with student's support networks and involvement in PiP's wider work.
Duties and responsibilities:
To support PiP students to participate and engage in a flexible programme of learning and development and achieve their ambitions.
Supporting Development Workers to deliver a flexible and empowering programme of learning and development sessions.
To provide key work support to a number of 'key students'.
Taking a role within the PiP Team to ensure that PiP maintains a high quality and responsive service.Experience and Knowledge:
Essential:
Working with people with learning disabilities, or similar client group
Understanding of and commitment to a person-centred approachDesirable:
Experience of supporting educational or group activities
Understanding of the risk assessment process, and development of strategies to tackle identified risks
Knowledge of Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults (SOVA) processes
Supporting people with a learning disability in a variety of settings, both internal and external for example in the classroom, at home, in the community, at work and on public transport.Skills and attributes:
The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, including the ability to maintain accurate records and produce reports
Can support high quality learning sessions for adults with learning disabilities
Able to work independently and manage a varied workload
Able to establish and maintain professional relationships, with a wide variety professionals and carers
Effective and meaningful communication with students with complex communication needsBenefits:
