About this client/child:
Joe (9) is a bright and friendly little boy who likes reading books, music, playing with the ball and spending time with his twin sister. He is great fun to be around, he loves and works hard at learning and therapy and this brings a lot of satisfaction and enjoyment to his family and carers. Joe’s sister Maria is a very independent young lady who likes to cook and do art and science projects. Joe has cerebral palsy and is fully dependent on others for all his needs. He is non-verbal and uses pictures and eye pointing to support his communication. He is very alert and bright and will let you know through facial expressions and sounds about his likes and dislikes.
Overview of role:
This is a fantastic role for an intuitive, warm, and energetic SEN Nanny/ Manny with a genuine interest in child development. will assist with the morning routine, take Joe to his therapy appointment, and drive him to school. While both children are at school you can either have an unpaid break or help with organizing the children’s rooms, equipment, and clothes, ensure all is in order, clean and ironed, and do some family errands. In the afternoon you will pick up both children from school. After school, you’ll organise activities Joe can engage in and support on developing Joe. Your support will help Joe reach new goals and promote his independence, toileting, and communication skills. You will be resourceful and find new stimulating and age-appropriate opportunities for Joe to develop physically and cognitively. Monday and Thursday 3.00pm to 7.00pm, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 7.30am to 7.00pm, £16.00 to £18.50 gross per hour depending on candidates experience. There is also the possibility of more hours during school holidays.

This role would suit a fun and proactive SEN Nanny/ Manny who enjoys working with children, helping them develop and achieve new milestones. You will be comfortable working in a private home alongside family members, pitch in as and when needed and understand boundaries and privacy. Is it essential that you are a confident driver, you will be driving the children to school and other activities.
