Job description for Senior Engineer – Tunnel Ventilation
EXTEND YOUR POTENTIAL WITH A GLOBAL TEAM OF EXPERTS
We are looking for a Senior Tunnel Ventilation engineer to join our MEP team in London, giving you the opportunity to co-create on some of the most prestigious infrastructure programmes in the UK.
On a day-to-day basis, you'll be responsible for:
* Development of design from concept stage through detailed design, including construction support
* Production of engineering design and detail in accordance with project requirements, applicable codes and standards
* Preparing design calculations, drawings and 3D model input
* Writing technical reports and specifications
* Reviewing of reports, specifications, calculations and drawings done by other specialists
* Developing and implementing design best practices and ensuring design conformance
* Assuring optimum application of internationally recognised tunnel ventilation design methods in accordance with international standards
* Encouraging and undertaking innovative and sustainable thinking around tunnel ventilation system design
Experience required for Senior Engineer – Tunnel Ventilation

Furthermore, you'll have:
* A degree in Mechanical engineering or similar
* Achieved Chartered Engineer status (or an equivalent professional qualification)
* Relevant experience in tunnel ventilation analysis and design of road tunnels, rail tunnels and metro stations
* Detailed understanding and skills within 1-dimensional tunnel ventilation simulations
* Good understanding of 3-dimensional CFD simulations
* Ability to direct and perform tunnel ventilation design from concept to construction.
* Professional reporting and communication skills in verbal and written form
* Knowledge of temporary ventilation systems
* Knowledge of fire life and safety
