THE ROLE

To assist the Sports Centre team in the provision of a high quality service to school and community users. To contribute to the organisation and planning and development of all Centre activities.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervision of groups of children on holiday programmes.

*

Entertaining and providing suitable games and activities for groups of children during week long programmes.

*

Cleaning duties of areas used throughout the building.

*

Setting up and safe removal of all equipment used.

*

Reporting of First Aid situations to main reception area.

*

Attending on-site training and meetings as requested by the Sports Centre Manager.

*

Maintaining good staff working relationships.

*

Planning of daily activities and end of week entertainments.

*

Sit with and supervise children during lunch.

*

Register children during the morning, lunch, and at the end of the day.

*

Ensure parents sign both drop off and collection slips.

*

Ensure the supervision and safety of children at all times.

*

Ensure you are aware of the schools H&S policy and evacuation procedures.

*

Carrying out any other duties or additional areas of responsibility as may reasonably be required by the Sports Centre manager or Courses Co-Coordinator.

THE MALLINSON SPORTS CENTRE

The successful candidate will be joining the School at a truly exciting time during a 10 year development plan of the facilities already in progress. The MSC will be a unique building fit for the 21st century and modern curriculum requirements. As part of this development, our superb, state of the art, 25 metre swimming pool, has been fully refurbished and opened in March 2020.

Sport has traditionally held a significant place in the life of Highgate School, and the sports facilities are excellent. The School has extensive playing fields covering some 20 acres with squash, tennis and Eton Fives courts. The Mallinson Sports Centre consists of a large sports hall, a cricket hall, a swimming pool, squash courts and a weights suite together with a social area, ancillary offices and brand new changing accommodation. The Sports Centre services the needs of the extended school family and the local community as well as those of pupils. During term time the Centre staff work closely with the Sport and Exercise Department (SpEx) and the Centre is used exclusively by the School between 8am and 6pm and outside these times and at weekends the community use programme is in place.
