SEND Youth Support Worker

Timeplan Education is seeking dedicated Youth Support Workers to work in SEND educational settings across Wandsworth and surrounding boroughs. Our school provides education and care to both primary and secondary aged students with SEMH and complex needs. They are looking for Youth Support Workers that have experience in coaching, mentoring, and lending assistance in a classroom setting. Ideal candidates must feel comfortable dealing with challenging behaviour and mental health difficulties and be able to show a calm and engaging approach. Many students also have additional SEND, such as ASD and ADHD.
Experience of working with children or adults in an education setting isn't essential, but a willingness to learn new coaching skills to improve behaviour and development is critical. All long-term positions are for an ASAP start.
Job Responsibilities
Experience of supporting children or young adults with challenging behaviour and SEND
* Able to stay calm and de-escalate challenging Behaviour
* Valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one
* Available 5-days a week and able to commit to at least 3-6 months
