We are looking for an Administrator to join our Data Protection team, focusing on delivering work methodically and with attention to detail.
Existing Data Protection experience is not required as training will be given, but any previous exposure would be beneficial.
Overall, the role is to assist the Data Protection Officer (DPO) establish and maintain the Company's Data Protection Governance and framework, and all associated policies to continue protecting the data protection rights of clients, employees and other company third parties.
The role is crucial in resolving data protection incidents which may impact upon the quality of the Group's compliance with the Data Protection Act and associated legislation.
This position would suit someone with transferable administration skills looking to develop into the data protection field. Full training will be given, and the successful applicant will be expected to undertake a series of training courses to enhance their knowledge in this field.

Responsibilities include assisting in:
Logging, acknowledging and filing all new cases submitted to the DPO office whether received via email, phone or other communication.
The processing of data subject access requests (DSARs) by retrieving data from our customer and staff databases, including the construction of suitable responses to requestors and management of each case within the statutory timescales.
Liaising with colleagues across the Group, external providers and service companies to collate information in a methodical and concise manner.
Liaising with official bodies, e.g., police forces, to assist in requests for information relating to allegations of crime.
Ensuring that data protection risks are identified and managed.
The provision of support for projects by providing advice and guidance on data protection issues, particularly Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) under the guidance of the Group DPO.
Updating the data protection reports log.
Support the group DPO in the planning and delivery of data protection courses to employees.
Deputising for some of the Group DPO's work to cover holidays or unscheduled absences.
Strong administrative skills with keen attention to detail.
Confident and accurate letter writing skills, and to provide responses in the correct context.
Good experience of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Previous experience of customer database systems.
Experience of maintaining key documents such as plans, logs and spreadsheets.
Ability to self-prioritise and organise work and handle workloads from multiple sources.
Demonstrable ability to communicate effectively in a variety of formats with all levels of colleagues and stakeholders.
Ability to establish facts and assessing the evidence in some types of cases or complaints. Reach supportable conclusions based on that evidence. Making appropriate, proportionate recommendations upon those conclusions.
Maintain and support the highest levels of integrity and confidentiality in your work due to the, sometimes, sensitive nature of the role, or that may involve highly sensitive personal and company information.
Desirable but not essential skills, as training will be provided
Understanding of the principles of Data Protection or previous work in this field.
Knowledge of the Data Protection Act 2018 or GDPR.
Previous experience of working within a regulated industry or liaison with regulators or oversight bodies
