Would you like to provide advice and guidance to young people to help them into education or employment?
The project identifies young people who are not in education or employment, and then provides coaching and support to help them transition into either a college course, work experience or to secure a job. Typically, you will spend 2 days home working. 1 day in their office at Waterloo. And then 2 days working out in the community (this means meeting young people in coffee shops or local job centres for example).
You will need to be a self-starter and will have complete autonomy (no micromanagement here). You will manage your own diary and will be super organised.
A summary of the key tasks is below:
Contacting organisations (already set up an in place) such as job centres or youth charities to talk to their young people to promote the service which will include phone calls, and meetings.
Delivering one to one advice and guidance sessions face to face, as well as on Zoom.
Coordinating with trainers to organise training courses / programmes for young people
Liaising with external training providers, training providers and employers to coordinate placements
We have 2 vacancies. You will work out of 2 boroughs (whichever are closest to your home) which could be Camden, City, Islington, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Haringey, Kensington & Chelsea, Westminster, Wandsworth, Lambeth, or Southwark.
Please apply via this advert. You might previously have worked in one of the following (or similar roles): Employment Advisor, NEETS Coach, Youth Worker, Youth Offending Officer, Careers Advisor, Teaching Assistant, Job Coach, Support Worker or Hostel Worker.
Everyone gets a response. If you would like to have a conversation with someone first, please call the office and ask for Jess (number on the Red 5 People website). If by chance you receive an email saying your CV was not the right match, there will be details on the email to request further feedback (happy to give feedback or provide further pointers or even a call if you wish).
Please note that this is a 12 month fixed term contract, however it is highly likely the role will continue beyond this into a longer term role
