Lead / Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

One of the UK’s top 5 M&E contractors has a need for a specialist in mechanical design within Building Services working on large scale commercial new build and fit out in London.

Lead / Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

As a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer you will be reporting to the Design Director, you will lead a small team of more junior Design Engineers and CAD Technicians on various projects in the South-East of England, predominantly on commercial new build and fit out projects.

You can be from either a Consultancy or M&E Contractor background, although the latter is preferrable.

You will be managing external partners doing the detailed design with a small amount of internal design. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the delivery from the external resource and making sure the construction team have the correct information / working designs.

Duties include:

• Implement and agree design programs

• Review and dissect mechanical design documentation throughout the process

• Lead design meetings with internal and external stakeholders, set goals and agree solutions

• Close liaison with pre-construction team ensuring budgets are adhered to

• Develop and issue requests for information (RFI’s)

• Ensure that health & safety procedures are fully adhered to

Remuneration

Salary for this role will be between £55,000 – £65,000, possibly more for the right candidate with the right experience
